Starkie Family Adventures: Our Story

We are Tyrone and Leah, partners in life, parents by choice and circumstance, and storytellers at heart. 

Our journey began with two separate families, unique experiences, and a shared belief in strong family values that are built through love, commitment, and resilience. As a blended family, we've navigated the joys, challenges, and everyday moments that come with bringing different lives together into one strong foundation. 

Along the way, we have embraced the realities of special-needs parenting and the unique experiences of living in an interabled marriage. Disability has never defined our family—it has simply become part of our story. Through adaptation, creativity, faith, and determination, we've learned that inclusion is not just about accessibility; it's about creating opportunities for every family member to thrive. 

What started as our personal journey has grown into a mission to share authentic stories that encourage, educate, and inspire others. We believe that families come in many forms, abilities, and backgrounds, and every story deserves to be told. Through our adventures—including outdoor exploration, challenges, celebrations, and everyday experiences—we offer an honest look at blended family life, disability-inclusive living, and special-needs parenting. Our goal is to build a community where families feel seen, supported, and empowered to embrace their own unique journeys.
